Why I Give
Giving to City Day is one of the most meaningful ways our families and alums show their support for our mission and its power to change lives.
A Chicago City Day School education is a privilege that every child should be lucky enough to have. Throughout my high school and college years, all of my accomplishments come back to lessons taught at City Day. Whether it is giving a presentation to my peers, building connections with teachers and professors, or striving academically, athletically, and in the arts all at once, it is all thanks to the foundation that City Day has laid for me. I learned that at CCDS, building strong relationships with those in your community is valuable as a student and a human being. Because of this, I can confidently approach a teacher or professor when I have questions or want feedback, and can form connections with everyone I encounter. Not only do these skills help in the academic field, but they are strengths that I will have for the rest of my life as I enter the workforce and beyond.
I give back to City Day annually, specifically to financial aid, to show the gratitude I have. I strongly believe that there is no better K-8 education. It is so important to give as many kids as possible a City Day education. It is a school that challenges you while prioritizing the growth and personal development of each unique student. Since graduating, I have been lucky enough to stay closely connected with the school, my classmates, and my teachers. I am proud of CCDS’s impressive growth. The school certainly has a bright future, and I hope as many kids as possible can benefit from all CCDS has to offer.
