An international awards program that highlights outstanding communications and marketing efforts has included Chicago City Day School’s redesigned website in its annual list of prize winners.
The website received a Platinum prize in the Marketing Effectiveness category of the 2020 Summit International Awards. The Marketing Effectiveness Award honors communications efforts that have a powerful effect on an audience’s knowledge, attitudes or beliefs.
City Day’s new site, launched in the fall of 2020, combines text, images, and video to create an engaging story about the school’s mission and approach. Special attention was devoted to creating a user experience that reflects City Day’s “culture of kindness.”
The website highlights City Day’s outstanding faculty, rigorous core curriculum and unique programming, such as our immersive travel opportunities overseas and our emphasis on public speaking.City Day’s website was developed by Finalsite, a web design company that works exclusively with schools.
“This is wonderful recognition for all those who spent a lot of hours over the last two years helping make our new website a reality," Head of School Chris Dow said. "Finalsite did an excellent job translating the City Day experience to the website, but that would not have been possible without the efforts of our faculty/staff, parents, students, trustees, and alumni who contributed to making the website an unmitigated success. To all who helped with this process, I am deeply grateful.”
Summit Awards received more than 1,600 submissions from 15 countries for the Marketing Effectiveness Award in 2020. Judges handed out awards in three tiers — Silver, Platinum, and Best in Category. Only 7 percent of the submissions received awards, and only 3.5 percent received Platinum or Best in Category honors.
Summit Awards has been honoring creative marketing efforts from smaller organizations since 1994. Companies and individuals from five continents have participated in the awards program.
