City Day definitely turned me into a person who values academics as an opportunity to learn, grow, and bond with people. You are pushed to your potential and surrounded by people who really want the best for you — and that is very motivating. Reese Ratcliff Class of 2024
Chicago City Day School graduates attend a variety of high schools each year — independent, parochial, and selective-enrollment public schools among them.
Reese Ratcliff, a member of City Day's Class of 2024, enrolled at Groton School, a storied boarding school in Massachusetts. She recently spoke to Chicago Parent magazine about how City Day prepared her for a challenging new school environment.
Reese cites City Day's writing program, the Kuczmarski Co-Op Project she completed in eighth grade, and the general compassion of City Day teachers as contributing factors to her success.
"Everyone at City Day wants everyone to succeed," she said."Teachers and students. And when you’re in an environment like that, it’s the greatest feeling, because people have got your back."
