Children grasp mathematical concepts at different times and at different rates. Some young children enter school manipulating numbers; others begin at a more traditional time. To accommodate these differences, in all grades math instruction is differentiated according to student’s performance and achievement.
Students use exploration and discovery to investigate the possibilities of math concepts. Using a variety of methods, students develop proficiency in basic facts, computational skills, mental math, use of manipulatives, algorithms, calculators, and computers.
