 Applying for kindergarten
To begin the application process for Junior or Senior Kindergarten, please contact the School Admissions Office at 773 327-0900. An introductory packet will be sent to you, which includes an application, tuition and fee schedule, and a brochure containing further information about the School.
The application should be completed and returned to the School along with a $50 non-refundable application fee for each child who is applying. Children must be four-years-old by September 1 of the year they enter Junior Kindergarten or five-years-old by September 1 of the year they enter Senior Kindergarten.
Applications for Junior and Senior Kindergarten are accepted during the summer and fall months of the year preceding the child's anticipated entrance into school. All kindergarten applications must be received by the School no later than December 1.
After the Admissions Office has received your application, we will telephone you to set up a time for the parents to visit the School. This visit will include an informational meeting with Headmistress Galeta Kaar Clayton during which you will learn more about the School and its philosophy. Also, a member of the admissions staff will take you on an individual tour of our facility. Both parents are strongly encouraged to attend this visit.
In addition to the parent visit, each child will be invited to attend a play party on a Saturday morning between January and March. Children will have the opportunity to interact with the kindergarten teachers and other youngsters of their age in a classroom environment. You will receive a letter providing the date, time, and details of your scheduled play party in the late fall.
Families are notified of the School's admissions decisions through a letter which will be mailed in late March.
If you have any questions about the School's admissions process, please feel free to contact the Admissions Office at 773 327-0900. We appreciate your interest in our School.
